²⁴ leave your gift there at the altar and first go to be reconciled with your brother. Then return and offer your gift.

²⁵ “Come to terms quickly with your opponent while you are on the way to court with him. If you fail to do so, he may hand you over to the judge, and the judge will put you in the custody of the guard, and you will be thrown into prison. ²⁶ Believe the truth of what I tell you: you will not be given your freedom until you have paid your debt down to the last penny.^[a]
